Proteomics, UWA join forces on new diagnostic test – The West Australian

The WA-based medical technology company and the university have set up an incorporated joint venture, OxiDx, two-thirds owned by Proteomics and one-third by UWA, to develop the “2-tag” measure for oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes muscle injuries and can damage cells, proteins and DNA, which can contribute to ageing.

The test requires only blood from a finger-prick to pick up both oxidated and non-oxidated levels in the body and the imbalance that indicates muscular stress.
